Job Description

LaSalle Network is in search of an International Compliance Specialist to play a crucial role in ensuring global trade compliance and facilitating seamless international logistics operations. Collaborating closely with the transportation team and procurement supply chain, this position ensures adherence to international trade regulations and supports operational excellence across global markets.
International Compliance Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update trade compliance policies and procedures in alignment with 19 Code of Federal Regulations Customs Duties
  • Classify products accurately and provide tariff classifications to ensure compliance with duty and import requirements, utilizing the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Update tariff classifications for each item number in S4 for imports and exports and maintain Food and Drug product codes in GTS for all item numbers
  • Review the sanction party list for customers, update GTS master data maintenance, and approve or deny as needed
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify compliance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, brokers, carriers, customs officials, and other stakeholders involved in import and export transactions
  • Review and update Mexican customs tariff classifications in accordance with item requirements
  • Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams on import and export requirements for the US, Mexico, and Canada


International Compliance Specialist Requirements:

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A curious nature with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Proactive approach with a bias for action to improve processes
  • Ability to translate data analysis into actionable insights
  • Strong persuasive skills to gain buy-in from stakeholders
  • Clear and effective cross-functional communication at all organizational levels
  • Comfort and professionalism in presenting to senior leadership and external customers
  • Ability to multitask and self-prioritize in ambiguous situations
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving optimal outcomes
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, STEM, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in key supply chain areas, including transportation, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Preferred knowledge of E2open (formerly BluJay) and SAP (ECC) systems
