The Plant Maintenance Manager provides leadership and direction to the maintenance department, overseeing the repair, predictive and preventive maintenance, and installation of equipment in manufacturing operations. This role ensures the elimination of equipment failure causes, maximizes asset life, and supports continuous production. The manager also oversees maintenance and storeroom budgets, implements improvements to facility systems, and ensures regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute strategies for departmental structure, systems, and interdepartmental communication.
- Manage annual and long-term maintenance and repair budgets.
- Lead capital and maintenance project management, ensuring safety, scope, and minimal operational disruption.
- Direct, mentor, and evaluate maintenance supervisors and team members.
- Develop skills assessments, succession plans, and staffing strategies.
- Schedule maintenance activities aligned with production schedules.
- Optimize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for planning and tracking.
- Analyze performance metrics to improve uptime and reduce costs.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in maintenance within manufacturing and 2+ years in a management role.
- Experience in capital project management, equipment procurement, and installation.
- Knowledge of safety management and environmental compliance.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems, PLCs, and CMMS.
- Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and wastewater systems is a plus.
