Job Description
Due to business expansion, we are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our in vitro Pharmacology team. The candidate for this position will be involved in the development of various disease-relevant cellular models and in vitro bioassays to support preclinical screening and/or evaluation of drug targets or candidate drugs. The candidate with experiences in human ESC/iPSC culture or gene editing techniques is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the lead scientists in the iPSC generation and gene engineering groups to support iPSC related projects, including human iPSC reprogramming, gene editing, iPSC differentiation, assays etc.
- Perform human ESC/iPSC culture, colony picking, and molecular biology bench work such as PCR and gel electrophoresis
- Assist with other experiments as required
- Keep good data recording
- Help the lead scientist to prepare the project report, and help the project manager for report updates
- Help to prepare and update SOPs
- Help with routine lab management duties
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, cellular and molecular biology, or other closely related fields; Master’s degree with working experience is preferred.
- Expertise in basic molecular biology and cell biology techniques, such as mammalian cell culture, PCR, electrophoresis, DNA/RNA isolation, transfection, electroporation, immunostaining, etc.
- Experience in human stem cell and iPSC culture is preferred.
- Experience in gene editing techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9 is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organization and record-keeping skills.
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and other software/websites for sequencing analysis and data graphing.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across functional teams.
