Mack & Associates, Ltd. is a women-owned and operated business that specializes in placing administrative support in the Chicagoland area. We are a boutique staffing firm located in the Chicago loop and we are seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team! This is an ideal position for a motivated, numbers-oriented person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and an exciting opportunity to work with a growing, energetic and progressive staffing firm! This role offers a competitive salary range of $30-50+/hr, plus benefits such as a 401k plan & PTO.
Responsibilities of the Accountant:
- Prepare bookkeeping daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Perform general accounting duties including entering transactions and reconciling general ledger, credit card, and cash accounts
- Proficient in Excel; entering and maintaining spreadsheets daily/monthly
- Weekly Prepare payroll using third party payroll vendor.
- Experience with accrual accounting methods.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, including general ledger and adjusting journal entries.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for working with clients, vendors, and other departments.
- Verify, complete and reconcile payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate ledger accounts.
- Monitor accounts receivable for accuracy of financial reporting
- Deposits of checks through the check readers for our bank
- Responsible for all office duties, including ordering supplies, ensuring all office space maintenance/repair issues are dealt with on a timely basis, administering all communications to necessary parties (mail, courier, fax, telephone, cell phones)
- Administer centralized office services (office supplies, etc)
Requirements of the Accountant:
- Must be detail-oriented, people-person who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in office administration.
- Experience in payroll and billing preferred, time-billing is a plus
- Ideal candidate would have professional services experience
- Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel are required
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong customer service skills
