WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY – DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES – FOOD MANUFACTURING?
- Contributor to shaping the future of food safety and quality within a leading organization.
- Oversee technical operations, regulatory compliance & affairs, complaint management, customer audits, labeling, policies, procedures, traceability, etc.
- Oversight of R&D teams to innovate and enhance our product offerings.
- USDA labeling regulatory requirements, including child nutrition, Organic, Halal, etc.
- Direct hire role with generous base compensation: $120,000+ discretionary bonus; commensurate with experience.
- Role open due to retirement after 25+ years – an excellent long-term career opportunity.
DO YOU ALIGN WITH THESE KEY QUALIFICATIONS?
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in technical leadership within the food industry; Ready-to-Eat (RTE) experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (USDA, FDA) and quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, BRC, GFSI, etc.).
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience in project management, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and external stakeholders.
- Office-based role with frequent visits to production facilities, supplier visits, conferences, and regulatory inspections.
WHAT WILL YOU DO AS DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES?
- Manage technical operations across all aspects of food manufacturing.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee microbiological and chemical laboratories.
- Direct Quality Assurance and Control initiatives.
- Lead process improvement, R&D, and project management.
- Foster customer relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
