Gear Wash is an Independent Service Provider (ISP) of personal protective equipment (PPE) care and maintenance. We specialize in advanced cleaning, inspection, repair, alteration, and equipment customizations for first responders. We’re currently seeking an Operations Manager in Lakewood, CO to manage day-to-day operations and supervise employees in a leadership role to meet production and project schedules; plan and assign work; implement policies and operating procedures and responsible for safety, quality, productivity and cost of responsible work groups.


Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Optimize Work Order Productivity: Ensure efficient throughput to meet management standards.
  • Drive Production Goals: Collaborate with the team to achieve and exceed production targets.
  • Customer Relations: Manage expectations and maintain clear communication with customers.
  • Leadership and Development: Coach, train, and supervise employees to foster a productive work environment.
  • Attendance and Issue Resolution: Monitor employee attendance and address any issues promptly.
  • Business Development Collaboration: Work closely with the Gear Wash Business Development team to expand and secure new accounts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and measure employee productivity against management standards.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Identify, document, and implement efficiency standards to enhance operations.
  • Process Documentation: Maintain and update the company’s process and procedure guide to align with industry standards.
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve semi-complex issues, making timely and quality decisions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment according to the company schedule and develop skills for general repairs.
  • PPE Service Ledger: Develop a strong working knowledge of the PPE service ledger tracking system.
  • Team Support: Assist with various tasks to support team objectives and ensure smooth operations.
  • Compliance Leadership: Lead the process for the successful completion of the company’s annual third-party verification program.


Hours of Work, Monday through Friday:

  • The site is open from 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Flexibility is required for business needs and supervisory coverage.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field is preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to learn new software programs and systems
  • Previous successful manufacturing or production leadership experience
  • Active leadership experience and familiarity with lean manufacturing and ISO standards
  • Valid drivers’ license with a good driving record
  • Open and effective communicator and collaborator with all levels of the organization and with external customers, including verbally and written, including being a team player and having a professional interface with others, getting results through collaboration while also being a self-starter
  • Possesses characteristics of servant leadership
  • Strong sense of urgency, follow-through, and diligence, including meeting deadlines and have the ability to remain organized with and keep track of multiple sources of information and data
  • Possess a solutions-focused mind-set
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Efficient with multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities, including being productive while handling re-directions and interruptions, based upon business needs

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds due to the nature of handling garments
