The Opportunity
Based out of Cockeysville, MD office, this full-time Human Resources Generalist is central to the Human Resources Department of Maury, Donnelly, & Parr. Under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources, the incumbent will provide comprehensive support across various HR functions, including leave management, HRIS administration, benefits, onboarding, employee relations, training initiatives, and ad hoc projects to delivery effective HR services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive guidance and support to employees on a range of topics, including benefits, compensation, licensing requirements, and policy interpretation.
- Maintenance of the HRIS, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all employee records.
- Coordinate and monitor the employee insurance licensing process to maintain compliance and ensure all licenses remain current.
- Support benefits administration tasks, including enrollment, record-keeping, and communication with broker and employees.
- Collaborate with the recruiting manager to facilitate candidate scheduling, coordinate onboarding processes, and contribute to the success of the intern program.
- Stay informed on HR industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes to advise the HR department staff on necessary policy or practice updates.
- Perform other duties related to HR generalist responsibilities as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) in human resources management or two to three years of related experience and/or training as a generalist, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus
- Computer skills required: Human Resource Systems; Microsoft Office; Payroll Systems (Paycom knowledge preferred)
- Possess some understanding of employment laws (e.g., COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, ACA, HIPAA, FLSA, etc.) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Occasionally required to stand/walk; frequently required to sit; continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity and to talk or hear. Normal office environment.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At MDP, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is presented within this posting.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
