Position Summary: Responsible for representing and developing our product lines in domestic markets. Must have outstanding lead qualification and selling skills, the ability to successfully meet the challenge of adding new customers while retaining existing customers and a passion for excellent customer service. Focused on generating profitable new business is a key component of our aggressive growth plan.
Responsibilities:
- Research and conduct canvass calls to customers (new and existing) in assigned region
- Presents/reviews machine quotation with customer utilizing videos and PowerPoint presentations highlighting machine features and benefits.
- Prepare machine RFQs
- Support customer visits during pre-sales meetings, machine build update meetings, and FATs
- Update and maintain CRM with related sales activities, accounts, contacts, and leads
- Prepares forecasting activities and monitors individual performance goals accordingly
- Supports the company’s strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals for new machine sales.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs
- Travels throughout assigned territory to prospect for new projects, promote Osgood solutions, visit existing and prospective customers
- Reviews machinery layouts and works with engineering to affect most efficient space utilization in the customer’s facility
- Prepares weekly expense report, as necessary
- Develops and maintains relationship contacts
- Stays current with industry trends and developments to seize new market opportunities
- Investigates and resolves customer concerns
- Attends trade shows as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in BA or BS, or combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years successful capital equipment sales experience preferably in the packaging machinery industry for food products.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentation, etc. with a proven ability to influence and persuade others to include the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven record of accomplishment as a top performer while selling in a competitive sales atmosphere.
- Ability to work under pressure to execute moderate to high capital sales transactions. Patience, tenacity and professionalism to endure long term, complex sales cycles
- Success with penetrating new markets, establishing new customer contacts and relationships, and using networking to expand existing customer relationships.
