What We’re Looking For
We are seeking therapists who are committed to working with children and adolescents, ages 5 and up. While a willingness to work with couples is a bonus, the primary focus of this role will be on providing therapy to younger clients impacted by trauma and other mental health challenges.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with designated staff to market skills and areas of expertise to build sustainable client case load, including a regular weekly staff meeting
- Maintain schedule to include regular hours with clients and weekly supervision with clinical staff
- Perform initial interview with clients to gather psychosocial history and relevant treatment information
- Create and maintain an up-to-date client treatment plan to effectively track client progress
- Provide clinically relevant interventions and help clients cultivate coping skills necessary to decrease symptoms
- Maintain appropriate clinical records of each encounter with the client
- Maintain financial account balances with client
- Make appropriate referrals when appropriate for client care, including psychiatrists and community resources
- Promote teamwork and cooperative effort among clinical staff and employees
- Be available for no less than 25 hours per week face-to-face with clients, with no less than 2 evening a week.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
- Prefer 2 years experience providing treatment to children/adolescents
- Prefer working knowledge of trauma-informed interventions, but training will be offered to support the Therapist
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed in Maryland as LGPC, LCPC, MFT, LMSW, LCSW-C, LGSW
- Basic computer skills necessary to work with electronic health record
- Excellent interpersonal skills required, organized, compassionate and insightful
