Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Location: West Jordan, UT

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $70k - $95k Annualy

Position Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting all phases of project planning, coordination, and execution. This position works closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. By leveraging strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, the Assistant Project Manager helps align project objectives with company strategies and contributes to the team’s success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assist in project scheduling, budget management, and performance tracking.
  • Support the management of multiple projects in various stages of completion.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to meet all project requirements and responsibilities.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks proactively to the Project Manager.
  • Troubleshoot project issues and implement resolutions effectively.
  • Conduct regular formal and informal status meetings with stakeholders, including general contractors, owners, architects, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Assist in preparing project change orders and scope of work assessments.
  • Coordinate shop drawings, field drawings, and other project details to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout all project phases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • MBA or advanced degree (preferred).

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in project management, construction, or structural/architectural steel projects (preferred).
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and design documents.
  • Familiarity with design specifications (AISC, AWS, and materials).
  • Strong organizational skills to manage complex data, drawings, contracts, and other project documentation.
  • Ability to assist with budgeting, tracking costs, change orders, and forecasting future costs.
  • Knowledge of general construction contracts and subcontract language.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of OSHA standards, manufacturing practices, and applicable codes (AISC, AWS, ASTM, IBC).
  • Effective team collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:
