Product Engineer – More than just coding

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer with a passion for solving end-to-end technical challenges and creating transformative, user-centric experiences. In this dynamic and hands-on role, you’ll work across the entire stack – frontend, backend, and AI model integration – to bring Jingo’s vision of intent-first shopping to life.

The Product Engineer role at Jingo is unique. This role gives you the opportunity to create delightful, seamless interactions that redefine how people shop online.

You won’t just write code – you’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and research teams to translate advanced models into intuitive, magical experiences for customers. Beyond technical execution, you’ll have a significant voice in product strategy and roadmap decisions, ensuring every feature contributes to our mission of transforming eCommerce into a proactive, joyful journey.

As an early team member, you’ll help shape the platform’s technical foundation, blending technical creativity with a relentless focus on delivering value to our users.

Key Responsibilities

• Frontend Development: Build interactive, high-performance user interfaces using React.js (Next.js) to deliver seamless shopping experiences.

• Backend Development: Design and develop robust APIs and scalable backend services with Node.js and TypeScript (Nest.js).

• Model Integration: Collaborate with the Research team to integrate real-time recommendation models into production workflows.

• Deployment & Scaling: Manage GCP-based infrastructure, leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure platform scalability and reliability.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research, Product, and Design, to implement features and iterate rapidly based on feedback.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure robust monitoring, debugging, and error recovery mechanisms to maintain high system uptime.

Qualifications

Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) – but we’re happy to overlook formal credentials if you can demonstrate exceptional skills and impact.

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with React.js and Node.js.

• Strong understanding of databases (Firebase ) and caching mechanisms (Redis).

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP).

• Experience integrating APIs and working with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across the stack – from frontend to backend to model deployment.

Preferred:

• Experience with AI/ML model integration (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Vertex AI).

• Knowledge of dynamic deal engines or eCommerce-specific features like order management and catalog enrichment.

• Startup experience and familiarity with fast-paced, iterative development cycles.
