The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing the supply chain network for the Jacobi Americas division. This position is responsible for ordering materials from our manufacturing facilities, optimizing our inventory holdings, and reporting on supply chain activities. This position resides in the Regional Supply Chain department within the Americas division, reporting to the Customer Experience Director in our Columbus office.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create Purchase Orders in the company ERP system (NetSuite).
- Collaborate with Jacobi’s Global Supply Chain team to ensure orders are produced and delivered on time to support regional sales activities.
- Track ocean containers to their final destinations and communicate with our customer service team on pending challenges and ETA’s.
- Work with local import brokers to ensure containers clear customs in a timely fashion, duty fees are paid, and invoices are correctly recorded.
- · Review shipping documents for accuracy.
- ·Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, ocean lines, rail, port, inland carriers, and warehouse personnel to ensure containers move smoothly from origin to destination.
- Participate in annual physical inventory counts at assigned warehouses.
- Manage relationships with domestic 3rd party activated carbon vendors in the U.S.
- Support the Customer Experience Director with various projects as needed.
Previous Work & Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent supply chain experience. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
- Experience with ocean imports is highly preferred.
- Must have the ability to analyze and make recommendations to effectively solve problems by using judgment that is consistent with industry standards, best practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law.
- Must be highly proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
- Must be willing to travel a few times per year to perform physical inventory counts and meetings.
- Collaborative team player mindset with the ability to work in a matrix organization.
- Action-oriented self-starter who is able and willing to challenge the status quo. Be able to problem solve and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office products required.
- Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
