Mechanical Quality Inspector (Manufacturing)

Cottage Grove, MN 55016 OR Medina, MN (*Travel to Medina, MN required)

$28-$38hr (Weekly pay + medical benefits)

6 month contract (Excellent potential for extension)

Full-time: M-F 7am-3pm onsite at either Cottage Grove or Medina

This position will provide quality support by working with members of a new product line development team, and external suppliers through product commercialization. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who can ensure that product components and finished product meet expectations, within the project timeline

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide quality support for a new product line including:
• Measuring parts/pieces using calipers
• Qualify supplied parts by performing production part approval analysis (PPAP)
• Perform fabrication or assembly equipment capability studies
• Perform gage repeatability and reproducibility studies (GRR)
• Perform gauge procurement (CAPEX)
• Create Control Plan and Work Instruction documentation and training

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ experience in Mechanical Inspection in manufacturing
• Must have experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
• Requires clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable to drive from Cottage Grove to Medina 3-4 days a week to inspect mechanical parts. Until Mid-April travel is required. ( gas/milage reimbursed)
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of gage repeatability and reproducibility studies
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of process capability metrics like Cp and Cpk
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6-8 hours per day) measuring parts
• Experience with Microsoft Excel (Use excel to enter data) MS Word
