Entech is hiring an Data Scientist for a Manufacturing client. This is a hybrid role that involves working onsite in Wilmington, Delaware - 3 days per week.

(Position is open to Contract-to-hire (C2H))

The Data Scientist will collaborate with clients within the company engaged in a variety of research; development, manufacturing, and business activities.

Requirement

• Education: Ph.D degree- Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Engineering OR Master's Degree (Chemical, Chemistry or material engineering + 3 year of experience )
• Strong coding skills in R or Python including data preparation, regression, and plotting
• Formal education in statistics, including regression and hypothesis testing
• Expertise in machine learning and deep learning techniques in clustering, classification and neural network with emphasis on supervised learning, e.g. random forest, xgboost, lasso, cross- validation, hyperparameter tuning, neural networks
• Develop algorithms and applications for R&D with machine learning and data science tools including data wrangling, clustering, outlier removal, predictive modeling, optimization, and time series modeling.
• Own data science application development from conceptualization and proof of concept up to the product.
• Basic competency with SQL database queries and visualization prototyping
• Research experience in applying statistics and data science to solve business, engineering, or scientific problems
• Self-learning with the intellectual curiosity to keep abreast of advances in the field, grow data science expertise, and refine grasp of internal business operations over time
• Effective interpersonal skills for communicating technical concepts to a layperson, collaborating with team members, and confidence presenting data analysis results to internal clients

Good to have skills (Not required, but an extra plus if you have the experience)

• NLP, GenAI, Azure OpenAI
• Knowledge of GenAI systems including Agentic and RAG approaches utilizing additional technology such as knowledge graphs and advanced retrieval techniques.
