Scientist- Large Molecules (LM)
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute experiments and associated research tasks, assisting in experimental design and setup. Operate and/or oversee equipment to gather experimental data.
- Design, modify, construct, calibrate, and maintain equipment. Compile, calculate, plot, analyze, and maintain data following established standards and practices.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and adhere to relevant regulations, such as those from the EPA, FDA, and other regulatory bodies. Modify and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Enhance technical expertise in environmental, metabolism chemistry, and/or pharmaceutical areas. Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective actions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in biochemistry and cell biology techniques, including ELISA, PCR, electrophoresis, immunoblotting, and cell culture.
- Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in biological or chemical R&D laboratory settings.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changes.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Experience with Data Acquisition and Operating Software, including SpectraMax Pro, MSD Discovery Workbench, GeneSnap, and Gene Tools.
Experience/Education
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, or a related Physical Science. Master’s degree with 1-2 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
