Our client, a leading energy company, is seeking a versatile Corporate Counsel with expertise across multiple practice areas, including Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Procurement, Supply Chain, Human Resources/Labor & Employment, and Litigation. This role requires an experienced attorney capable of navigating complex regulatory landscapes, managing diverse legal matters, and providing strategic counsel to various business units.

Responsibilities:

  • EHS Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, including those from OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies, and provide guidance on permitting, compliance, and enforcement actions.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain: Advise on legal matters related to vendor contracts, supply agreements, risk management, and compliance with applicable procurement regulations and industry standards.
  • HR/Labor & Employment: Provide counsel on employment matters, including workplace policies, compliance with labor laws, investigations, dispute resolution, and union-related issues.
  • Litigation Management: Handle or oversee litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and working with outside counsel to mitigate risks and defend the company’s interests.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Track and interpret changes in regulations across multiple practice areas, assessing their impact on business operations and developing strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal business units, external counsel, and regulatory bodies to address legal challenges, resolve disputes, and protect the company’s interests.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of broad legal experience, ideally in the energy or industrial sector, with expertise in EHS, procurement, supply chain, HR/labor & employment, and litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and litigation strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously and provide clear, actionable legal guidance to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, with a proactive and strategic mindset.

Our client offers a competitive salary, professional development opportunities, and a dynamic work environment. Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and a summary of relevant experience.
