Electrical Designer – Immediate Opening in Roswell/Alpharetta, GA area

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our client's team in Roswell, GA . This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay based on experience, with immediate availability for the right candidate.


As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for engineering, designing, and executing control system applications for various industrial projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality project outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for heavy industrial facilities, including motors, controls, panels, wiring, switchgear, cable tray, and conduit routing.
  • Create and prepare detailed design drawings and construction packages for installation.
  • Perform Electrical and Instrumentation reviews to ensure compliance with quality procedures prior to issuing for construction (IFC).
  • Utilize vendor specifications and manuals to guide system integration.
  • Conduct voltage drop calculations, wire sizing, and conduit fill calculations.
  • Create and modify PLC-based control panels, motor control panels, process diagrams, loop diagrams, power one-lines, and electrical schematics.
  • Develop project scopes, material lists, and schedules while ensuring alignment with NEC codes.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel and construction teams to communicate project packages effectively.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical design experience .
  • Proficiency in designing 480-volt power distribution systems, lighting, schematic wiring diagrams, cable/raceway sizing, lightning protection, and grounding systems.
  • Experience with area classification and hazardous environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC codes .
  • Skilled in developing scopes of work, project estimates, and schedules.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with construction and plant teams.


Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with hazardous area classification.
  • Hands-on experience with medium-voltage switchgear.
  • Proven ability to review and refine design estimates and work scopes.
