Senior Hardware Engineer - Sunnyvale CA

DESCRIPTION:

This role will be working within the Reality Labs organization on entirely new technology being developed for the next generation of Meta's AR consumer products. This is a Senior level HW/EE generalist position, requiring strengths in hardware flex board design, board bring up, debugging, and validation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hardware board design and bring up, supporting new technology development
• Reviewing and approving plan layout, including creating new designs and modifications of existing designs.
• Write detailed functional specifications and design flow/tradeoff
• Hardware Validation and debugging, approving product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
• Design and develop hardware and support peripherals, including system-on-chip (SoC), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and system interconnection.
• Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ YOE in Hardware Engineering, HW/EE generalist experience with strong board design and development skills coming from consumer electronics (preferred) or similar backgrounds
• Strong Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design skillset for flex and rigid boards
• Hardware Validation, testing, and debugging experience
• Extensive experience with board bring up, integrated circuits, and low power devices
• Fundamentally strong with Electrical Engineering concepts
• Prior experience in any of the following - sensors, wireless, low power devices, audio, display, interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIE, SPI, I2C)
• Completed BSEE and/or MSEE degree

JOB DETAILS:

• Job Type: Contract (W2)
• Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA
• Hourly Pay: $100.00 per hour
• Job Duration: 1 year, plus 12-month extension (2 years)
• Work Hours: 9-5 M-F / 40 hours per week
