Job Description

We are seeking a Business Development Lead to represent and strengthen relationships with key clients, particularly local counties, municipalities, schools, and other government entities for our client’s team in Monmouth County, NJ!


This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for their building material and trucking division, proactively ensuring that the company remains top of mind and upholds its reputation for quality service. This role focuses on maintaining and nurturing long-term relationships, with a strong emphasis on brand visibility, ensuring the company stays top of mind for their services. This position is not tied to direct sales or revenue targets, but offers a strong bonus structure based on key performance indicators (KPIs).


Responsibilities

  • Act as the main liaison for government clients, ensuring continuous communication and strong relationships with municipalities, schools, police departments, and other local entities.
  • Regularly check in with clients through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to ensure satisfaction and ongoing engagement.
  • Proactively engage with clients to keep the company top of mind for current and future projects.
  • Represent the company at local events, county functions, fundraisers, and other community activities to enhance brand presence.
  • Attend local meetings, including county government sessions, school board meetings, and other municipal gatherings, to network and strengthen ties with key stakeholders.
  • Visit local offices, bringing small gestures of appreciation like coffee or donuts, to maintain visibility and foster personal relationships.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of email blasts, newsletters, and updates to clients to keep them informed on services and company news.
  • Coordinate follow-up efforts to ensure clients feel valued and connected with the company.
  • Ensure that the company remains the preferred provider by keeping consistent communication with existing clients and maintaining a strong presence in the community.
  • Engage in light, warm calling and follow-up with existing clients to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for additional business.
  • Report on client interactions, community outreach, and KPI performance to management.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, customer relations, or community outreach, ideally within the construction, logistics, or government contracting industries.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with local government processes and construction/materials industries is preferred.
  • A friendly, approachable demeanor with a passion for community involvement and representing a family-oriented company.
