This primarily remote position serves as the primary immunization program liaison for Vaccines for Children (VFC) enrolled offices located in Marion County, Indiana.
The incumbent will oversee a suite of onsite visits focused on program compliance.
This position serves as the VFC program operations lead and primary immunization program liaison and representative for an assigned region ranging from 110 to 150 enrolled VFC healthcare provider offices within the state of Indiana. The incumbent will conduct and oversee a suite of onsite visits for the assigned region focused on program compliance assessment, education, and training. Additionally, this position will deliver a range of provider support services including annual recertification, temperature excursion response and reporting, consultation and technical assistance for VFC office relocation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Visits (50%)
•Conducts biennial program compliance visits with enrolled VFC providers according to CDC and ISDH procedures, including providing extensive VFC program education and communicating findings and identifying steps/actions to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner
•Conducts unannounced storage and handling visits with select VFC providers and documents all actions/findings in CDC PEAR (Provider Education and Activity Reporting)
•Oversees and supports the program enrollment process for new VFC providers, including conducting initial and follow-up program enrollment visits
Provider Support Services (35%)
Collaborates with the Vaccine Ordering and Accountability team and Immunization Information System (IIS) team to provide optimal customer service to providers
•Facilitates and supports the annual recertification process among enrolled providers
•Facilitates and supports new vaccine coordinator access to training materials
•Provides consultation and technical assistance for VFC office relocation, including vaccine transport, storage unit preparation and relocation, and temperature monitoring processes
•Provides temperature excursion mitigation and resolution support to reporting providers
•Provides just-in-time training and technical assistance to enrolled offices over the phone and online
•Documents all technical assistance contacts in CDC PEAR
Team Operations Support (5%)
•Provides thought leadership regarding content development for online learning management system (LMS) training modules, provider training materials, policy development and revisions, and process improvement interventions
Service Delivery and Professional Development (5%)
•Participates in continuing education and training opportunities related to agency policy, VFC policy and procedure, and other professional development topics
•Participates in division events, meetings, projects, and initiatives
Other duties as assigned (5%)
•Supports vaccine-preventable disease outbreak response efforts, as requested
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
•Access to reliable transportation
•High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of related professional/volunteer experience; or, 2 year academic degree or certificate (Associate’s Degree) and 2 years of related professional/volunteer experience; or 4-year degree (Bachelor’s degree) and 1 year of related professional/volunteer experience
•Documented experience providing tactful and quality customer service to professionals and members of the general public
•Demonstrated client/case management experience
•Demonstrated experience adapting work schedule based on customer and program needs
•Demonstrated experience conducting quality assurance activities in accordance to standard operating procedures
•Demonstrated experience applying problem-solving skills to resolve issues ranging from routine to moderate complexity
•Demonstrated experience performing technical assistance and just-in-time training functions over the phone or in a virtual setting (i.e. Skype for Business, GoToMeeting)
•Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and timelines in an environment with shifting expectations and priorities
•Demonstrated experience learning specialized software and computer programs
•Demonstrated basic proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office products- Outlook, Word, and Excel
Desired Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in community health, public health, or closely-related field
•At least one (1) year immunization program-related experience involving vaccine program
•Demonstrated experience working independently in a remote work/telework setting
•Demonstrated experience identifying, communicating, and evaluating opportunities for process improvements
•Working knowledge of CHIRP
•Working knowledge of VFC program operations, including vaccine storage and handling
