Job Description:
Pay Range: $18hr $23hr
Responsibilities: - Process requests for the paper record by running eCare pull lists and email requests received.
- Coordinates the prompt flow, transfer and retrieval of hospital paper medical records between the record control locations and the requesting location in the community within established turnaround times.
- Performs a diligent search to locate all paper records requested with an understanding of how records are cataloged/indexed at the offsite storage warehouse for each of the locations.
- Using the offsite storage warehouse record tracking system, carefully orders and updates records for various sites ensuring the appropriate priority and delivery location are selected.
- Utilize image/scan on demand functionality as directed by team lead and/or manager.
- Promptly investigates record location problems brought to the attention of the CRCC via telephone, in writing or in person.
- Communicates results of any search in a timely manner or escalates unresolved issues appropriately to the team lead and/or manager of the unit.
- Maintains paper records onsite at Inner Belt , taking care to prevent misfiles and keeping shelves clean/clear for easy future retrieval.
- Records daily incoming volume received and productivity of volume of work completed on a daily basis.
- Carefully and diligently enters/updates the location of all patient records into the Care chart tracking module and/or designated spreadsheets including paper volume management.
- Maintains a knowledge of eCare' s ADT (admission, discharge, transfer) Module to determine patient stays, discharges, etc.
- Works eCare and other reports to account for any overdue records.
- Protects the confidentiality and integrity of patient information at all times.
- ssists in preparing and faxing patient records to the scanning unit for processing.
- Processes pre Care paper records received from various site departments/practices and sends to the offsite medical record warehouse.
- Performs other duties as requested by team lead or manager

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Must be organized and able to perform a variety of tasks.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

- Collects relevant information to understand problems and issues, e.g. escalating urgent requests or problems finding records.
- Holds self-accountable for complying with policies, procedures and work requirements e.g. processing record requests (Research, patient care, operations), meeting expected turnaround times and/or return of records to onsite file room/offsite warehouse.
- Due to the nature of the job the candidate should be able to lift 25 pounds with assistance.
