CAPTAIN

Esmé is seeking a career-minded, motivated, and charismatic Captain to join our team. An ideal candidate should have strong wine and beverage knowledge, understanding of fine dine service mechanics, and a genuine passion for the hospitality industry.

Job Description: 

The Captain is the primary point of contact for guests throughout their experience. They introduce the concept of the restaurant, reconfirm all allergies and guide guests through their dining experience.
The Captain is responsible for effectively communicating with the kitchen and service team, to create a seamless and genuine experience for all.


Job Requirements :

• 1-2 years of service experience in a fast-paced, fine-dining restaurant required
• Proficient wine knowledge is strongly preferred
• Available Wednesday-Sunday
• Polished and professional demeanor
• Positive, team-player mentality
• Ability to take initiative and assist colleagues without prompting
• A genuine love for food, seasonality, and hospitality
• Ability to remain calm in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication skills
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
• Prior multi-course menu experience is very helpful
• Self-motivation and dedication to quality and professionalism

Who We Are:

Esmé is a one Michelin star restaurant, located in the heart of Lincoln Park. The space is owned and operated by Chef Jenner Tomaska and wife and partner Katrina Bravo. The couple have reimagined the tasting-menu model with philanthropy and art integrated into the foundation of the experience, an expression of their shared vision for the community-focused restaurant.
