*Job Title: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner*
*Job Summary:* The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is responsible for providing specialized care to neonates, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex and critical conditions. Working closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, NNPs ensure high-quality care for newborns, particularly those requiring intensive care or premature infants.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Patient Care and Assessment:*
* Perform thorough physical exams and health assessments for newborns.
* Monitor and assess vital signs, growth, and development.
* Diagnose and manage neonatal conditions, including respiratory distress, infections, congenital abnormalities, and other critical health issues.
* Provide interventions and treatment plans for neonates requiring intensive care, including respiratory support, nutritional management, and pharmacological treatments.
*Qualifications:*
* *Licensure:* Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
* *Experience:* Prior experience in neonatal or pediatric nursing, ideally in a NICU setting, is highly preferred.
*Skills:*
* Strong clinical skills in neonatal care.
* Proficiency in performing neonatal procedures and managing critical situations.
* Excellent communication skills, both with healthcare teams and families.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage complex cases.
*Work Environment:*
* *Location:* Typically employed in hospitals, particularly those with a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), or specialized neonatal care centers.
* *Schedule:* Variable, may include nights, weekends, and on-call hours.
