*Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric*

*Job Description:*

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in psychiatric care to join our team in the Inpatient Mental Health department. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises within a structured inpatient setting. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized treatment plans, manage psychiatric assessments, administer medication, and monitor patient progress.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Patient Care:* Provide compassionate care to patients in acute psychiatric distress, ensuring safety, comfort, and emotional support.
* *Assessment & Monitoring:* Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments on newly admitted patients and monitor their ongoing physical and mental health conditions.
* *Medication Management:* Administer prescribed psychiatric medications, monitor their effects, and manage side effects.
* *Collaboration:* Work with a team of psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* *Crisis Management:* Respond to psychiatric emergencies, ensuring patient de-escalation and safety.
* *Documentation:* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on patient care, progress, and interventions in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
* *Education & Support:* Provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them navigate psychiatric treatment and recovery options.

*Requirements:*
* *Education:* Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
* *Experience:* Prior experience in psychiatric nursing, particularly in an inpatient setting, is preferred.
* *Skills & Abilities:*
* Strong clinical assessment skills in mental health.
* Ability to handle psychiatric emergencies with professionalism and calm.
* Proficient in electronic health record systems and documentation practices.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
* Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to stand for extended periods, assist patients with mobility, and perform physical assessments.
* Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
