The Pediatric Hospitalist Physician provides care for hospitalized children and newborns, performing daily rounds and being on call for 24 hours. Sunday-Sunday 7AM-7AM On call when arrive to when they leave 24 Hour Call Inpatient Only Not required to remain on site during call, but must be able to respond within 30 minutes Average Total Inpatient Census: 2 Average # of patients/day/provider: 2 Average # of admissions/day: 1 Average # of admissions/night: 2 350 Deliveries yearly Avg Peds census is less than 1 per day NRP and PALS/APLS required No ICU/Critical Care Duties LT Responds to Codes LT expected to serve as back up in the ER 10% of visits become admissions 10 bed OB/GYN/Antepartum/Postpartum beds 3 Peds beds, 6 L&D beds, 13 Normal NB Cribs & 2 Level II NB beds Coverage of New born nursery, required to attend routine and scheduled C-sections, & deliveries Procedures required: umbilical lines, intubate, lumbar puncture, I&D EMR = EPIC (HealthSpan) REQUIREMENTS: NC licensed & DEA Will accept BC only physicians Must be PALS and NRP certified
