Arc Health is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to provide care at the Shiprock Service Unit in New Mexico, serving the Navajo Nation community. Arc Health is actively seeking skilled a Internal Medicine physician to join us in providing care at the Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU) in Shiprock, NM. This opportunity allows you to make a significant impact within the Navajo Nation, serving a vibrant community while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.   • Cultural and Historic Sites : The Navajo Nation is home to several cultural and historic landmarks, including Monument Valley , Canyon de Chelly , and Chaco Canyon , all of which are not far from Shiprock. These iconic sites, known for their stunning natural beauty and historical significance, offer opportunities for exploration and reflection.
  • Outdoor Activities : The surrounding landscape includes desert plains, mesas, and canyons. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are many opportunities for hiking, photography, and cultural immersion. Facility Overview: The Shiprock Service Unit is the largest geographical service unit within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), serving a diverse population across New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. The facility encompasses the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) , a 60-bed hospital, and two health centers: Four Corners Regional Health Center and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center . The facility provides comprehensive care, including primary care, pediatrics, labor and delivery, intensive care, family practice, urgent care, mental health, dental, and more.
  • Level IV Trauma Center: The Emergency Department (ED) is certified as a Level IV trauma center and as "Peds Ready" by the New Mexico Emergency Medical Services for Children and the University of New Mexico Child Ready Program, ensuring excellent emergency care for pediatric patients.
  • Broad Scope of Care: Inpatient and outpatient services include medical-surgical, pediatric care, intensive care, women's health, pharmacy, optometry, dental, radiology, and public health nursing.
Community Focus: This position allows you to immerse yourself in a setting that respects and integrates cultural traditions into its care approach. Engage in meaningful health education and outreach programs aimed at promoting wellness within the Native communities. Position Details:
  • Schedule: Mix of Outpatient and Inpatient schedule. Outpatient half day census; 5 - patients per clinical half day Inpatient census, 5 - 14 inpatients and 1 - 5 admissions per shift
  • Duration: 6-12 months of coverage, potential to extend
  • EMR: RPMS
Requirements:
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Completed residency training
  • Valid state license and DEA
  • Active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Valid state driver s license
  • Ability to meet health requirements and pass background checks
  • Clean NPDP report
