Automation Designer

We are seeking a self-motivated, punctual, and courteous individual to work in our CAD department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications.
2. Interpret verbal or written directions to initiate a preliminary design.
3. Prepare parts lists, procurement lists, bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete. Revise lists, drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.
4. Implement revisions and change control per company standards.
5. Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources.
6. Continually look for product improvements and cost reductions.
7. Determine and initiate drawings/models based on optimal views relative to communicating construction desires as applicable.
8. Identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances and materials necessary for optimal construction.
9. Analyse the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems and recommend possible solutions or alternate construction options.
10. Produce drawings and deliverables utilizing company standards within project-approved schedule and budget.
11. Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.
12. Adhere to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.

Ideal candidates need:

10+ years of experience automation.

Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Strong Experience in Designing Assembly machines such as:

Ultrasonic Punching & Welding

Infrared Welding

Hot-Air Cold Stake Welding

Fastener drivers

Assembly Cells

Robot integration

Trim & Degating

Strong Knowledge of GD&T

Strong attention to detail

The ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
