Our client, a fashion retailer based in NYC, is seeking a VP of Merchandising to join their staff.

Responsibilities:

• This person is going to develop the merchandising strategy, analyze market trends, and lead the process.
• They will collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless execution of merchandising plans.
• Work closely with their retail back-office team in China communicating trends, products, styles, etc. to the team.
• They will partner with their wholesale partners to understand selling and use the findings for retail.
• The idea is to have this person own the merchandising for their retail business. There will be a link to both retail and wholesale.
• Role reports directly into the CEO
• 1 direct report (director-level to start) and plan on building the team out to 2-3 people

Requirements:

• Must have retail and wholesale experience.
• Must come from apparel.
• Creative mindset that s also flexible and adaptable to new ideas
