Position Overview:
The Legal Assistant will perform comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the attorney within a corporate legal department. This includes but is not limited to:
- Maintaining calendars and attorney’s schedule to include scheduling meetings and providing meeting support, arranging meeting logistics, appointments, setting reminders, and coordinating with company employees and third parties.
- Maintaining organized electronic and physical files, retrieval, and updating of legal documents.
- Correspondence to include answering and directing phone calls, managing email communications, and preparing responses to routine inquiries from employees and third parties.
- Attending to the payment of third-party invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining records of such payments.
- Ensuring smooth operation of the legal team while upholding strict confidentiality standards of all legal documents, information, and internal matters.
- Acting as a point of contact for the legal department and coordinating with internal and external parties to facilitate efficient legal processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years’ legal industry experience.
- Legal knowledge: Basic understanding of legal terminology especially patents and NDA’s.
- Proficient computer skills in software applications (Microsoft office suite).
- Strong organizational skills: Efficiently managing multiple tasks, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills: Effectively communicating with third parties and other professionals, both verbally and in writing.
- Professionalism: Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance
- Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in correspondence.
Salary Range: $70,000 to $72,000. Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
