Technical Sales Engineer (Mechanical)

Rotor Clip Co., Inc. - Somerset, NJ

Rotor Clip is the leading global manufacturer of tapered section retaining rings, constant section retaining rings, spiral retaining rings, wave springs, and self-compensating hose clamps. We are looking to expand our team of Technical Sales Engineers, who work to integrate and develop these products into the customers’ applications. Industries served include Automotive, Military and Energy fields.

Job Responsibilities

· Review customer prints and specifications to determine if an off the shelf product or a custom design is required

· Use knowledge of manufacturing process to determine production feasibility, develop costing, production logistics, and sales price for custom designs

· Assume an active role in new products launches from initial quotation through product launch and quality approval processes by working directly with customer engineering, quality and purchasing departments.

· Provide technical knowledge to customer service department and Rotor Clip’s distribution partners

· Act as a liaison between customers and Rotor Clip’s Quality and Production departments

· Actively participate in technical meetings and sales discussions with international client teams

· New hires will be expected to develop a deep knowledge of the products that Rotor Clip manufactures, therefore, a strong desire to learn is required. Product training will be provided by peers but successful applicants grow knowledge of production processes through individual projects with interdepartmental groups.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3D Solid Modeling experience in SOLIDWORKS, PTC Creo (Pro/Engineer), Catia, or similar
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong mechanical analytics skills
• This position will eventually require up to 20% travel
• 1-3 years of work experience in an engineering position preferred
• Previous experience in the automotive industry, stamping or spring design are considered a plus
