I've teamed up with a recognized leader in the structural steel fabrication and erection industry, specializing in delivering high-quality, on-time solutions for complex construction projects. As an AISC Certified company, they are committed to excellence in design, fabrication, and installation.
They are looking for a VP of Operations who wil play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our operational functions including steel fabrication, project management, logistics, procurement, safety, quality control, and site erection. This leadership position is responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, ensuring project delivery within scope, time, and budget, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day operations, including fabrication, erection, logistics, and project management functions, ensuring the seamless execution of all projects.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across all departments.
- Manage and mentor department heads, including production managers, project managers, safety officers, and quality control teams.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set long-term goals and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement by promoting best practices and strict adherence to industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with AISC certification standards, OSHA regulations, and other industry-specific safety and quality requirements.
- Oversee procurement and inventory management to maintain optimal supply chain operations and ensure timely material availability.
- Drive the optimization of scheduling and logistics to ensure on-time delivery of fabricated steel and materials to job sites.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Manage project budgets and timelines, working closely with project managers to address any potential risks or delays.
- Utilize data and performance metrics to track operational performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 15 years working in structural steel fabrication
- Working at a Plant Manager level or above - specifically running a steel fabrication plant
- Understands full turnkey process for steel fabrication
