The Software Engineering Associate will support the development of internal digital platforms and applications. The associate will assist in maintaining existing code and developing new features, contributing throughout the full software development life cycle (SDLC) — from gathering requirements, coding, and testing, to releasing.
The associate will gain experience in full-stack development within a cloud-based ecosystem under the guidance of a Senior Software Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to grow skills related to data engineering, database development, application development, and cloud infrastructure deployment and monitoring. The associate will work on multiple software projects, contributing to various applications that support digital transformation efforts. In this role, the associate will also gain exposure to modern data intelligence platforms and work alongside team members specializing in machine learning and generative AI.
Experience and Abilities:
- A recent graduate with a full-stack related college project or 1+ year(s) of experience in software engineering. Graduates who have gained full-stack development skills through a recognized online boot camp program may also be considered.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate situations where the path forward is not always clearly defined.
- A passion for data analytics and an interest in exploring AI concepts and code frameworks.
Software Development Skills:
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more of C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Web Frameworks: Experience with a Single Page Application framework (Angular preferred).
- Database Experience: Familiarity with MongoDB or PostgreSQL preferred.
- Version Control: Experience with Git.
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with deploying applications on cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred).
- Software Development Tools: Experience with tools such as Visual Studio Code preferred.
