AP Professionals has been retained by a well-established non-profit organization located in Elmira, NY in search of an IT Manager. In this newly created position, the IT Manager will assist the IT Director in overseeing the daily operations of the IT department. This role involves managing a team, maintaining secure and efficient technology systems, and collaborating across departments to support organizational goals and drive technological improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate IT staff while managing workflow and project delivery.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of team members, and address escalated technical issues.
  • Maintain and manage IT infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and scalability.
  • Optimize performance, monitor downtime, and handle licenses, accounts, and hardware inventory.
  • Assist in developing and executing IT strategies and projects aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring proper documentation and staff training.
  • Provide direct technical support and oversee the helpdesk for efficient issue resolution.
  • Address recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and security best practices.
  • Monitor and manage cybersecurity policies, incidents, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in budget planning, manage IT expenses, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Partner with leadership to address IT needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Promote technology adoption to enhance efficiency and support organizational goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to meet service expectations.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing and system integrations.


Experience

  • Over 5 years of experience in IT management or a comparable leadership role, ideally within a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading IT teams, managing IT infrastructure, and overseeing complex technical projects.
  • Proficiency in network administration, server management, cloud services, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting, end-user support, and managing service desk operations.
  • Understanding of the specific challenges faced by not-for-profit organizations, such as budget limitations and mission-focused initiatives.
