Position Summary:

  • The Commercial Manager is responsible for supporting marketing and sales commercialization programs and initiatives for the organization. This position will involve the collection, analysis and distribution of commercial execution performance reporting in support of our sales and marketing teams.


Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sales Performance Analytics & Reporting: Support our sales organization in the collection, analysis and communication of in-market sales execution performance to include weekly/monthly sales performance, targeted initiatives and incentives, Innovation and distribution scorecards, Sales volume, displays, and new account reporting. Oversee the creation of Karma tasks in VIP and collect, interpret and report performance based upon that data. Provide insight into cooler equipment asset utilization in the field based upon retailer sales performance. Develop and maintain Excel and Power BI based analytical tools for performance tracking. Develop and distribute necessary sales execution reporting. Serve as key analytical resource for our sales and marketing teams. Gather data on competitors and analyze pricing, sales, and method of marketing and distribution. Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in trade literature.
  • Sales Support: Participate in the weekly commercial council and sales & operations planning (S&OP) meetings. Support and develop content for weekly/monthly sales and distributor meetings, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) meetings and special initiatives (100 Days of Summer). Coordinate point of sale (POS) material in support of new product launches. Provide support in the creation and distribution of new product launch letters. Creates presentations and new product literature for sales team. Review and maintain sales content (Merchandising standards, new products, innovation launch letters, Sales decks) on SharePoint sites for front line access and utilization.
  • Commercialization Stage Gate Process: Support the Stage Gate process in the identification of emerging brands and categories that complement our brand portfolio and add incremental profitability. Support new product launches from concept to execution in partnership with Sales leadership to include authorizations, promotional calendars, launch letters and sales execution material. Measure the effectiveness of new product introductions, marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies.
  • Brand Partnership & Management: Support the marketing and sales teams in the execution of sales blitzes, incentives and brand promotions. Ensure strong alignment and communication with key internal stakeholders in both Sales and Operations. Understand and leverage local and national media from brand partners. Provide insights from market data at the national and local level. Develop and utilize tools to leverage available market data.
  • Marketing Strategy & Support: Partner with our internal print media team supporting marketing and sales programs throughout the Enterprise. Coordinate with the sales teams on all Point-of-Sale creative, ordering requirements, coupons, and equipment for all relevant brands and packages.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Sound understanding of statistical analysis and planning or market research. Practical experience with new products, branding, advertising and customer satisfaction research methodologies.
  • Must have strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Intermediate to expert level experience in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with data analysis tools (ex. SQL, Power BI, etc.). Internet savvy with a functional understanding of Web technology.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
  • Interpersonal and team skills with ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel required. Open-mindedness to work with people from different cultures, as well as corporate personnel.
  • Excellent follow-up, project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Strong creative, analytic and math skills with experience in statistical modeling metrics and analysis.
  • Familiarity with online social networking, the blogosphere, social media and general Web features and functionality.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or marketing preferably within the beverage or consumer packaged goods industry.
