Job Description
Primary Purpose
The Automation Integrator is responsible for programming, installing, and maintaining control systems to ensure facilities operate efficiently and safely. This includes collaborating with engineering teams to improve designs, supporting construction and commissioning teams, troubleshooting issues, and updating technical documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- At least 7+ years in automation programming/integration.
- 3+ years in oil field process facilities.
- Skills:
- Expertise in PLC, HMI, and RTU programming tools (e.g., RSLogix5000, FactoryTalk View, Red Lion Crimson).
- Knowledge of electrical and automation design principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards (API, NEC, NFPA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- Advanced understanding of automation and electrical systems.
- Experience with gas measurement and engineering principles.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Commissioning and Oversight
- Supervise facility commissioning activities focused on automation control systems.
- Maintain and track project schedules and progress.
- System Design and Programming
- Develop and troubleshoot automation programs using PLC, HMI, and RTU software.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with engineering designs and standards.
- Complete and update As-Built documentation after commissioning.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform repairs on automation-related electrical systems, including 120V AC power supplies.
- Troubleshoot communications (Ethernet, serial, wireless) and calibrate automation devices.
- Collaboration and Training
- Train automation specialists and team members on control systems, processes, and equipment.
- Communicate project updates with stakeholders and support field operations teams.
- Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to company safety standards and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with change management processes and regulatory requirements.
- Technology Evaluation
- Research new technologies and provide recommendations to improve operations.
