In this specific role, we are supporting a client that is an industry-leading manufacturer of custom metal wall panels. A brand-new facility is being assembled in Columbus, OH.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides general manufacturing and design expertise to support customer requirements and continuously improve safety, quality, yield, and throughput of manufacturing operations. Leads projects to implement new products, processes and materials into the production phase in order to improve cost competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Develops, evaluates, improves, and designs manufacturing methods and processes.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Create, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications and design intents. Understand and interprets 3D models. Understand and interpret geometric tolerance, design intent, and primary design features.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Develops mechanical design and drafting of products and production jigs and machinery.
- Performs cost studies to determine lowest cost of manufacturing and coordinates the implementation of these changes.
- Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Analyzes manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Provides engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
- Supports company policies and procedures, goals and objectives and goods manufacturing practices.
- Designs maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods, organizes routine servicing schedules.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous working experience with Salvagnini Equipment
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook and proficient in CAD software.
OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be self-motivated and proficient in developing and executing to a project timeline.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
