The Aspen Group (TAG) is looking for a leader in Data Governance that will be responsible for organization-wide data governance activities. You will be responsible for implementing controls to improve data quality, cataloging of data, protection of sensitive data and information assets.
You will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to a modern enterprise data governance framework that outlines standards and best practices to be followed by the Business and Technical Areas and review on a frequent cadence.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Establish the Data Governance team and enterprise data governance roadmap
- Work with the business and technical teams to identify areas for improvement and implement quality controls
- Establish a core team to review core business KPIs and measures. Ensuring measures are documented, monitored and alerting in place for deviations on given metrics
- Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
- Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology alongside the product teams to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
- Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
- Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
- In conjunction with the IT, provide progress reports to Leadership and oversee periodic updates to the Data Governance Roadmap
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
- Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
- Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions
- Internally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are done
- Bachelors or master’s in computer science, MIS, or Information Management
Skills & Tools
- Data Documentation Tooling such as Collibra, Apache Atlas, Amundsen, Atlan or similar
- SQL / Analytics Skills – Advanced level
- Exposure to the Cloud ideally AWS or GCP
- Ability to create dashboards in tools like Tableau – measuring performance and key metrics
Compensation: $120,000-$145,000 annually
