Job Description

A media services organization in Connecticut is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their growing team as their new Engineer - Digital / Broadcast Reliability. In this role, the Engineer - Digital / Broadcast Reliability will be responsible for facilitating support efforts to ensure the maximum reliability for all operations, including live event production.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and issue resolution of all transmission, monitoring, and communication systems related to operations, including live event productions
  • Ensure the engineering designs, plans, maintenance, and other activities related to engineered systems result in a safe and reliable transmission operation
  • Act as a liaison with Engineers, Operators, and leadership to facilitate support of cross-disciplinary operations and engineered systems
  • Interface with the Telecommunications carriers and vendors to identify, escalate and resolve issues, commit maintenance windows, as well as improve on overall performance
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Video Streaming System Engineering Design, Configuration, and Maintenance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and/or a related field
  • Solid understanding of IP networking
  • Familiarity with Linux OS, Bash, AWS EC2Familiarity of video transport standards/protocols (e.g., MPEG, HEVC, HLS, RTP, ASI, HLS, CMAF, DASH) and DAI standards (e.g., SCTE 104 and SCTE 35)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Visio (or similar), and AutoCad (or similar)
  • Familiarity with baseband video protocols (HD-SDI, 2110 and 2022-6/7), 4K/HDR standards, Dolby 5.1 and Atmos audio standards
  • Familiarity with Broadcast Technologies, including routing and switching, frame sync, large-scale KVMs
  • Demonstrated experience in Product Ownership
  • Previous experience in a Supervisory role
  • Good project management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
