Encore Talent Solutions has partnered with a local client in search of a Leader, Enterprise Data Management and Architecture on a direct hire opportunity.


Summary Description:


The Director/Senior Director of Enterprise Data Management is a pivotal role within Information Technology, responsible for defining, overseeing, and leading the strategy, architecture, and implementation of data management best practices across the organization. This individual will ensure the effective use, security, and governance of data across all business units, managing data as a strategic asset to drive business insights, compliance, and competitive advantage. The role involves close collaboration with senior leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to develop and execute a data strategy aligned with organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities:


Data Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise data management strategy aligned with the organization's objectives.
  • Promote the adoption of data management best practices, including data governance, data quality, data architecture, and data lifecycle management.

Data Governance and Compliance:

  • Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and privacy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and manage data-related risks.

Data Architecture and Integration:

  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to design and implement scalable data architecture supporting data integration, data warehousing, and analytics.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data models, data flows, data management tools, and data repositories to meet business needs.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including architects, engineers, governance specialists, and quality analysts.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Data Quality and Integrity:

  • Implement and manage data quality programs to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data.
  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics and work with business units to resolve issues.

Business Intelligence and Analytics Support:

  • Partner with business units to identify data needs and support business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Enable the use of analytics to generate actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.

Technology and Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and select data management technologies and tools that align with the organization’s needs and strategy.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality data management solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise data management initiatives, working closely with executives, IT, and business leaders.
  • Communicate the value and impact of data management initiatives to stakeholders at all levels.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

  • Develop and manage the budget for the enterprise data management function, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project and operational needs.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in data management, IT, or related fields.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with Microsoft ERP platforms is a plus.


Skills:

  • Deep understanding of data management technologies, data governance frameworks, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data quality management.
  • Proficiency with data management tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, Tableau, Informatica).
  • Strong technical, leadership, and business acumen with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Experience driving productivity and holding teams accountable for outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and relationship-building.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with the ability to prioritize and implement required changes.
  • A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to serve as a change agent for technology adoption and process improvement.
