Application Analyst L3 (Hybrid)

Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking an Application Analyst to join their team! This candidate will be responsible for leading projects, providing consulting, and supporting critical business applications, including generation systems, testing tools, and power monitoring applications. This role involves reverse engineering undocumented applications, designing solutions, and implementing workflows to improve operational efficiency.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of IT experience with a strong emphasis on application development and support.
- SQL: Advanced querying and data management skills.
- Reverse Engineering: Analyze scripts and workflows to uncover undocumented processes.
- Visual Studio: Proficiency in debugging and developing applications.
- PowerShell: Automating scripts and workflows to streamline application management.
- Experience in generation applications such as predictive maintenance and performance monitoring (e.g., EtaPRO).
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in enterprise applications across domains like financial systems, asset management, and customer care.
- Development tools and languages: Java, .NET, UNIX scripting, C++, and SQL.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of complex projects.
- Effective communicator who can collaborate across teams and business units.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Reverse engineer and troubleshoot undocumented applications to identify and resolve issues.
- Manage and support applications that monitor the health and performance of power generation systems, including testing and vibration analysis tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data and requirements for new generation stations and applications.
- Perform workflow analysis to identify gaps and recommend improvements, even when tasks originate from non-standard channels (e.g., emails, Teams, or phone calls).
- Maintain and improve enterprise applications in financial, GIS, asset management, work management, and other business areas.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for applications that currently lack clear technical specifications.
- Work on application program coding, testing, debugging, and production release to meet business needs.
- Assist with Change Requests (CRs) and ensure proper resolution for critical application issues.
- Participate in testing efforts to support other analysts and teams within the organization.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis to address critical system issues.
