We are seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator to join our team. This role involves managing Windows Server in an enterprise-level environment, providing robust application support, ensuring system security, and creating user documentation and training materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with virtualization and scripting. This position offers the flexibility of remote work within CST and EST, with occasional travel to Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities:
- System Management: Oversee and manage Windows-based systems, handle Tier I - III tickets, and work with end-users to resolve system-related issues.
- Documentation & Training: Create user documentation and training materials, such as for Citrix Workspace. (e.g., Take detailed notes during calls for future reference)
- Windows Server Administration: Manage Windows Server in an enterprise-level environment, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Application Support & Integration: Provide support and integration for various applications, maintaining a secure environment for a smaller user base within a complex system.
- Virtualization: Utilize vSphere for virtualization tasks.
- Coding/Scripting & Troubleshooting Logs: Competency in reading and troubleshooting logs, with knowledge of Java or similar languages as a plus.
- Citrix Management: Training can be provided for Citrix; a Windows background is sufficient.
- System Administration Tasks: Manage Active Directory (AD), DNS, Groups, Group Policies, Windows Server OS, IIS
- Linux/Ubuntu: Experience or familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu is beneficial.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; ideally in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Windows system and server administration.
- Strong background in Windows Server Administration.
- Competence in system administration tasks involving AD, DNS, Groups, Group Policies, Windows Server OS, and IIS
- Experience using vSphere for virtualization
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to read Java code, with ability to troubleshoot and analyze logs.
- Skilled in administering and managing Tomcat server instances.
- Experience with Cisco Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco HyperFlex systems.
- Expertise in digital certificates, Transport Layer Security (TLS), and related security protocols.
- Familiar with Linux/Ubuntu operating systems and their command-line interfaces.
