Role: Storage Admin
Location: Plano, TX(Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement detailed migration plans for Pure Storage, EMC Isilon, IBM storage systems, and Komprise-managed migrations.
- Perform pre-migration assessments to identify risks and dependencies.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, and cloud teams to ensure migration readiness.
- Utilize tools such as Pure Storage Active Cluster, Flash Array, IBM replication technologies, and Komprise to migrate data between data centers.
- Configure and optimize storage systems post-migration for high performance and efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues during migration to ensure smooth execution.
- Validate data integrity and consistency post-migration.
- Adhere to security protocols to safeguard sensitive data during the transfer process.
- Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, configurations, and post-migration verifications.
- Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Perform performance tuning and ensure optimal storage configurations in the target environment.
- Test and validate all migrated systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network, application, and cloud teams, for a coordinated migration effort.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for migration-related storage issues.
Qualification:
- Proficiency in Pure Storage (Flash Arrays and Flash Blades) and EMC Isilon, NetApp Stoage, IBM V9000.
- Hands-on experience with storage migration tools such as Pure Storage Active Cluster, Flash Array, and Komprise.
- Strong knowledge of storage protocols, including iSCSI, FC, NFS, and CIFS.
- Proven experience with large-scale data migrations and consolidations in multi-vendor environments.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud storage solutions and integrations.
- Experience leveraging Komprise for efficient data classification, migration, and tiering.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues during migrations to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining data integrity and optimizing performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Familiarity with service-oriented, phased, and change-controlled approaches to migrations and cutovers.
