Myticas's direct client, based in Madison, WI, is seeking a Data Platform Product Manager for a hybrid contract position.


Job Description

The Data Platform Product Manager will focus on developing a strategic roadmap for the data platform supporting clinical surveillance products offered by the client’s Clinical Surveillance and Compliance business. This role will collaborate with the VP of Product Management and Portfolio Product Managers to establish the platform's strategic direction, prioritize enhancement projects, and oversee their execution.


This is a technical product management role requiring in-depth knowledge of FHIR , HL7 , and EDI as approaches to data acquisition and ingestion. Data enrichment involves leveraging industry-standard third-party reference data and bespoke computations, which may include machine learning models and GenAI processing.


Responsibilities

  • Work with the VP of Product Management and Portfolio Product Managers to create, prioritize, and maintain a rolling 12-month product roadmap, ensuring it maximizes business value over time.
  • Regularly collaborate with Portfolio Product Managers to review and address changes in data ingestion or processing needed to support new application features.
  • Review feature requests from customers and internal stakeholders to inform roadmap priorities.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support and Customer Success teams to prioritize bug fixes and maintain clear communication about the status of known issues.
  • Stay informed about advancements in data acquisition and processing technologies to ensure the product leverages emerging approaches.
  • Partner with Product Development teams on new data ingestion and processing projects, assessing required resources, costs, and timelines to reflect them in the roadmap accurately.
  • Evaluate roadmap candidates for business value, risks, costs, and alignment with company goals, using business cases as needed and adhering to the client’s product investment governance processes.
  • Guide data product analysts on backlog grooming, monitoring work readiness for estimation and scheduling, and tracking the completion of prioritized projects.
  • Monitor product development progress to ensure priorities align with roadmap commitments.
  • Work with Operations to ensure new features are launched with minimal disruption to customer support.
  • Actively participate in Agile planning ceremonies to deliver roadmap features.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency, addressing concerns promptly.


Qualifications


Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Arts (BA), or equivalent is preferred.


Experience:

  • At least 5 years of product delivery experience in health IT, acute care hospital clinical settings, or managing systems integrated with clinical workflows in electronic health record systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare interoperability, working with clinical or billing data in FHIR, HL7, or EDI formats.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing the product lifecycle, developing roadmaps, creating business cases for new development, and maintaining a prioritized backlog for product development.
  • Proven experience collaborating with clinical subject matter experts to gather detailed product requirements.
  • Experience aligning product investment with company strategy and presenting ideas to executive audiences and stakeholders.
  • Experience working within Agile Scrum software development, including breaking down large product enhancements into smaller units of work and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Experience in requirements management and project management to deliver complex projects.


Preferred Background:

  • Education or experience in the healthcare industry with specific knowledge of hospital information technology.Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications
