Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Systems Analyst having a strong background in IT Project Management . This role supports our mortgage loan operations and Business Intelligence solutions, and focuses on enhancing business processes, optimizing systems, and delivering effective IT solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders across business units to identify, analyze, and document requirements for various projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role also includes light managerial duties, providing guidance and leadership to a small team of analysts as needed.



  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis : Engage with stakeholders to collect, document, and analyze business and system requirements, especially for loan origination and servicing processes.
  • IT Project Management : Oversee project lifecycles, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope. Utilize Agile methodologies to manage project tasks and workflows.
  • Technical Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive technical and business documentation, including workflows, data mappings, and business rules.
  • JIRA Management : Configure and manage JIRA for project tracking, task assignments, and performance metrics.
  • Release Management: Provide oversight for the IT release management process, its adoption, compliance of, and communication to affected teams as it relates to processes and systems, including updates and upgrades.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting : Develop SQL and T-SQL queries to analyze data, create Power BI reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Function as a liaison between IT and business units, ensuring clear communication and managing stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve business processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiencies within the loan servicing lifecycle.
  • SDLC Management : Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned projects, from initial requirements gathering through to testing and implementation.
  • Trusted Advisor: Advise on and support reporting requests and calculations for ad-hoc reporting, data analysis to support projects and troubleshoot user issues/questions, development of new system fields, and process improvements.


Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL for querying, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong hands-on experience with JIRA for project management and Agile workflow configuration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum practices, with experience facilitating Agile ceremonies.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) , with experience managing projects through the full lifecycle.
  • Solid understanding of the mortgage loan industry , including loan origination and servicing.
  • Experience in the identification and subsequent definition of KPIs
  • Business and systems analysis, including the ability to translate complex business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Previous experience leading a small team of analysts is a plus.
  • 7 to 10+ years' experience as it pertains to building technical business requirements, analyzing process workflows in and outside of systems, reporting, data analysis, application support, and technical project implementation.


Credentials and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Sigma Six and/or PMI PMP Certification is a plus.
