Job Description

Our client, a top ranked General Contractor is seeking a Junior Construction Project Engineer to support the successful execution of construction projects by coordinating with project teams, ensuring proper documentation, and assisting in the management of schedules, budgets, and quality control. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with 1–2 years of experience and a solid foundation in construction management principles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, tracking milestones, and deadlines.
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
  • Maintain accurate project records, logs, and documentation for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely communication.
  • Monitor and track project costs to ensure alignment with budgets.
  • Support procurement by preparing purchase orders, evaluating bids, and coordinating materials delivery.
  • Assist in reviewing and verifying subcontractor invoices and payment applications.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Identify and report quality or safety concerns to senior project staff.
  • Support the implementation of quality control and safety programs on-site.
  • Interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts to assist project teams.
  • Assist in resolving technical and construction challenges during project execution.
  • Coordinate with field teams to facilitate efficient workflow and address site issues.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Skills and Experience:

  • 0–3 years of experience in construction or project engineering.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, codes, and standards.
  • Knowledge in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Certifications:

  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification (preferred).
