Job Title: Sales Engineer / Solutions Engineer (On-site in San Francisco, CA)
About the Role
This is for a VC backed startup that is growing like crazy and has excellent traction because of a killer product.
An exciting opportunity for a motivated Sales Engineer / Solutions Engineer to drive revenue growth by leading technical product demos, addressing complex customer questions, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
You will work closely with leadership, sales, product, and implementation teams to expand business opportunities, refine sales collateral, and influence the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Technical Demos & Sales Support
- Become a subject matter expert on an integration platform and related source systems
- Present clear, persuasive demos to prospective clients, handling technical questions and objections
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify prospect fit and refine talk tracks, scripts, and sales materials
- Customer Onboarding & Technical Consultation
- Configure software solutions to align with customer workflows, business processes, and system requirements
- Provide technical documentation and post-sales support
- Consult on implementation strategies to ensure a smooth transition from existing platforms
- Recommend process enhancements to scale customer acquisition and improve revenue activation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with product and implementation teams to gather feedback from demos and onboarding sessions
- Contribute insights to shape the product roadmap and develop best practices for future deployments
- Work with non-technical and technical stakeholders alike, delivering information in an accessible way
What We’re Looking For
- Experience : 2–5 years in a Solutions Engineering, Product, or related technical role, ideally supporting sales teams
- Technical Fluency : Familiarity with SaaS, APIs, SQL, and tools like Postman; coding skills not required, but strong understanding of data-intensive software is essential
- Domain Knowledge : Exposure to business accounting and/or construction/service industries is helpful but not mandatory; willingness to learn industry-specific jargon and processes
- Communication Skills : Skilled at explaining complex solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (e.g., CFOs, software engineers)
- Adaptability & Curiosity : Eagerness to learn new concepts, pivot quickly between tasks, and propose creative solutions to prospective clients
- Startup Mindset : Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred; comfortable taking initiative and wearing multiple hats
Location & Work Policy
- San Francisco, CA – on-site, in person, 5 days per week
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary : $120,000 – $185,000 per year
- Equity : 0.05% – 0.20%
- Visa Sponsorship : Available (H1B, TN, etc.)
