GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Director of Operations and Distribution will be responsible for driving excellence in warehousing, material movement, receiving, on-time delivery performance, cost reductions and process improvement. In addition, the Director will be responsible for attracting and developing talent within the multiple departments in two facilities, one in Fort Worth and one in Coppell. This leadership position is crucial to ensuring our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently while supporting our growing demand within the CPG and personal care space.
Please note that the person in this role will be required to work in-office at our Alliance TX location. Remote or hybrid work options are not available for this position.
Travel between Coppell, TX and Alliance, TX office locations will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of warehouse professionals, fostering an environment of accountability and excellence. Guide, motivate, and develop the distribution team, setting and tracking performance goals.
· Logistics Coordination: Oversee the coordination of warehouse operations across multiple locations, including receiving, storage, and distribution.
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in warehouse operations, including new WMS/ERP systems to adapt to growing demand. Stay abreast of industry trends and apply relevant knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
· Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards to maintain a safe working environment.
· Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Operations to ensure that warehouse operations align with company objectives.
· Performance Metrics: Monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of warehouse operations and make necessary adjustments.
· Run & Scale Operations: Develop the operational plans to scale overall business capacity globally via new sites in the US and abroad.
· Compliance & Regulations: Ensure adherence to warehousing, transportation, and distribution regulatory standard.
EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
- 10+ years of experience in Operations leadership role, managing multiple shifts with permanent and temporary workforce.
- Significant Supply Chain background preferred, with experience in multiple disciplines (i.e., manufacturing, planning, logistics, etc.).
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in one or more of the following: Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Sales, and Operations Planning (S&OP), Inventory Management, Capacity Planning or Production Planning.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems.
- Understanding of Financial Metrics such as EBITDA, ROI, ROA, and Inventory Turn.
- Strong analytical skills including thorough risk assessments.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to develop and successfully execute strategic initiatives.
- Ability to combine expertise in material flow management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, up to 50% of the workday.
- Must be able to climb stairs, stand for periods of time, and have the ability to bend, squat, kneel, turn, and stoop in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 30-lbs and bend
- Travel may vary between the Alliance location and Coppell location, must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work and function safely in a Warehouse environment.
