About the Role:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. You will play a critical role in the development of cutting-edge electronic systems for our innovative Class III implantable medical device. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, a passion for innovation, and the ability to thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and verify all electrical subsystems, including power distribution, motor and magnetic bearing drive electronics, processing/control units, and communication systems.
- Select and specify suitable components for the intended application, considering factors like risk profile, failure modes, and use environment.
- Design, prototype, and test electronic subsystems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Interface and integrate functional subsystems with other parts of the system, including electronic modules and mechanical integration.
- Design and develop efficient analysis and test procedures to verify component and module performance.
- Conduct and report on experiments for verification and validation of product input specifications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation (specifications, design documents, protocols, etc.) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
- Participate in risk analysis and corrective action activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the design and development of analog, digital, and/or power electronics, preferably within the medical device industry.
- Advanced skills in component selection and design of analog and digital electronic circuitry.
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic physics and analysis, EMC requirements, and test methods.
- Practical implementation of electrical engineering principles in the risk-based design for medical devices.
- Experience with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 14971, IEC 62304).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
