Education

Lead injection molding and packaging operations to achieve production schedules efficiently, align with organizational objectives, meet customer needs, and maintain budgetary guidelines. Organize and coordinate manufacturing workforces and resources to function effectively as a team.
Essential Job Functions
Review and coordinate equipment schedules and staffing levels with the Planning team to meet production goals.
Assign and prioritize shift work to fulfill daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
Identify and address issues, leading teams to improve productivity and quality to achieve departmental goals.
Partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement efforts, streamline operations, and reduce production costs.
Ensure compliance with inventory, materials ordering, production reporting, and work order closing procedures across shifts.
Review labor reporting to ensure accurate coding in the system based on work performed.
Collaborate with Engineering on planning and executing capital projects within the area.
Work with Engineering to resolve deviations in output rates, BOMs, routers, and other standards.
Maintain clear communication between shifts and provide feedback to management regarding issues, changes, and recommendations.
Determine staffing levels needed to meet production demands and coordinate with staffing agencies when necessary.
Evaluate performance of direct reports, providing formal and informal feedback.
Participate in hiring processes and onboarding new team members.
Manage administrative documentation such as pay reviews, vacation requests, and leave of absence forms.
Monitor and input data into payroll systems to ensure accurate employee compensation and attendance records.
Oversee training programs for new and existing employees, ensuring corporate training requirements are met.
Ensure adherence to safety practices, procedures, and company policies.
Monitor and maintain good housekeeping and manufacturing practices on the production floor.
Identify areas for improvement in molding operations, focusing on tooling, machines, and methods to increase efficiency.
Guide process technicians on troubleshooting issues and implementing adjustments or repairs.
Enforce injection molding procedures and standards.
Collaborate with Engineering and technicians to implement advanced molding techniques to enhance product consistency.
Address and resolve quality issues in coordination with the Quality team.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Knowledge/Experience
Proficiency in injection molding processes and plastic part quality characteristics.
7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
Familiarity with labor budgeting, capital equipment, and production supplies.
Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards, MRPII systems, and Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience in an injection molding environment preferred (minimum 5 years).
Skills
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
Basic knowledge of injection molding tooling components and processes.
Understanding of decoupled injection molding principles and machine operations.
Ability to assess the skill levels of technicians and setup personnel.
