Role: Electronic Repair Technician
Location: Orlando, FL (Onsite)
Duration: 3+ Months
Payrate: $20-25/hr
2nd shift schedule: 3 PM - 11:30 PM
Requires protective toe / ESD shoes
Description:
We are looking for technicians with expertise in BGA (Ball Grid Array) rework and repair, who possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The following is a list of key skills and experiences required:
BGA Rework and Repair
Experience in reworking BGA components, including disordering and soldering.
Ability to identify faulty BGA components and replace them.
BGA Inspection
Skilled in visual inspection of BGA solder joints, using magnification tools (e.g., microscopes, x-ray equipment).
Soldering Skills
Expertise in both hand soldering and machine soldering techniques.
Familiarity with leaded and lead-free soldering processes.
Use of BGA Rework Stations
Proficiency in operating BGA rework stations (e.g., using hot air).
Knowledge of temperature profiling and managing reflow cycles.
Experience with X-ray Machines
Familiarity with X-ray inspection of BGAs to check for hidden solder joint defects.
Understanding of PCB Materials and Components
Knowledge of various PCB materials, components, and their characteristics.
Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Experience
Experience in working with SMT components, in addition to BGA rework.
Handling of Sensitive Components
Familiarity with handling ESD-sensitive components and the use of anti-static equipment.
Quality Control and Documentation
o Experience in documenting work, including repair logs, and following quality control procedures.
o Ability to work with engineering teams to ensure repairs meet quality standards.
Experience with Thermal Profiling Software
o Familiarity with thermal profiling tools to ensure proper heat distribution during rework.
Communication Skills
o Strong ability to communicate technical issues clearly with other team members and management.
Time Management and Efficiency
o Ability to work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
Knowledge of Industry Standards
o Understanding of relevant industry standards, such as IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21 (rework and repair), and others.
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience & Education
· High School Diploma or GED with minimum two (2) years of work experience in an electronics repair and/or maintenance.
· Capable of working flexible shifts including, nights, weekends and holidays
· Must be flexible and willing to work any area in Repair or Production, as necessary
· Must speak, read and write English fluently
· Regular attendance and punctuality is required
· Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Thales culture and values
· Must be well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
· Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
